The Asia Pacific Poker Tour Macau
The Asia Pacific Poker Tour kicks off its second season in Macau with the Asian Poker Open at the Grand Waldo Hotel and Casino. The APPT Macau is a nine day poker festival, being held at the Grand Waldo Hotel & Casino, September 1st -9th. The event will consist of two main Texas Hold’em tournaments, along with several smaller tournaments and satellites.
The HKD $25,000 (USD $3,200) APPT main event will be held September 1st - 6th with a USD $1,300,000 guaranteed prize.
The HKD $150,000 (USD $19,250) High Rollers event will be for three days (September 7-9) also featuring a guaranteed prize pool of USD $1,300,00.
The APPT Macau is an excellent choice for up and coming poker players and semi professionals who are looking for a serious poker event with a medium Buy-in level. With 10,000 starting chips and 60 minuet blinds, the structure gives players time to play a tight steady game without feeling too much pressure on the first day. This gives players the opportunity to wait for strong hands without the need to risk chip stacks in the early stages. This structure along with the day one being split into three first days makes the APPT Macau an event that offers great possibility of being a profitable event, maybe even a seat at the final table.
Tables will be ten handed dropping to nine handed as soon as possible, then eight handed for the last ten tables. The final table will be nine handed. The amount of $5,900 will be retained for the buy-in of the APPT Sydney grand Final. The APPT Macau Main Event will seat 1,000 players and 300 players for the High Rollers Event. The APPT Macau event is one of the most popular stops on the APPT circuit and is likely to sell-out quickly, so it is strongly recommended to pre-book your seat.
